Earlier this month, our team hosted our annual Dog Walk event at El Paso Animal Services, and it was such a rewarding experience.

We spent time walking shelter dogs, giving them affection, and sharing a little extra love with animals waiting for their forever homes. Giving back to our community is always meaningful, but doing it alongside these sweet pups made the day even more special. 🐶❤️

We’re thrilled to announce that Fatima Escarcega has joined Lauterbach, Borschow & Co. as a Senior Tax Associate!

Fatima holds both a Master of Accountancy and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at El Paso and is currently pursuing her CPA license.

She brings several years of public accounting experience serving a diverse client base. Prior to joining the firm, Fatima worked at local CPA firms preparing federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, and nonprofit organizations, while also supporting bookkeeping, payroll compliance, and financial reporting services.

Fatima’s areas of concentration include tax preparation, planning and compliance, individuals, partnerships and corporations, nonprofit organizations, and cross-border businesses. She also has experience assisting with tax planning, quarterly estimates, and extensions in multi-entity environments and is known for her attention to detail, ability to manage multiple engagements, and commitment to client service.

Orlando holds both a Master of Accountancy and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at El Paso. He brings several years of experience in public accounting, with a strong background in tax compliance, bookkeeping, and small business accounting.

Prior to joining the firm, Orlando worked at a local accounting firm where he prepared federal and informational tax returns for individuals and entities, supported payroll tax compliance, and assisted with financial statement preparation. He also managed small business clients, providing full-cycle bookkeeping and handling compliance filings such as sales tax, franchise tax, and 1099 reporting.

His experience also includes cross-border accounting, including reconciling Mexican financial records for U.S. compliance. Orlando’s client-focused approach and diverse background make him a strong addition to the tax team.
