Good news! Looks like they are planning to extend the PTE-E tax benefit through 2027.

Received a message with this info today:

The Department of Revenue (DOR) is providing updates regarding the Pass-Through Entity Elective (PTE-E) Tax program.

Senate Bill 1510 extends the Pass-Through Entity Elective (PTE-E) Tax program to tax years beginning before January 1, 2028. The measure passed the Legislature in the 2026 session and is awaiting the governor’s signature. More details will be available soon on the PTE-E webpage.

Now you have to report independent contractors to the Oregon Child Support Program, similar to new hire reporting for employees. Be sure to get the W9 when you hire a new independent contractor, which you should be doing already for 1099 processing, but so many wait until the end of the year.
