October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Jeffco.

This morning, the Jefferson County Commissioners were joined by Sheriff Reggie Marinelli, Cymone Williams from The Family Tree and Candace Cooledge from PorchLight, A Family Justice Center to recognize survivors of domestic violence (along with many others from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and First Judicial DA's Office of Colorado).

CDC data shows intimate partner violence is common: more than 1 in 3 women and more than 1 in 6 men in the U.S. have experienced contact sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

Seeking help can be difficult, and access to confidential, trauma-informed services can make an important difference.
