So many small business owners think they need to do it all - and do it alone. It took a while for me to be able to hand off/delegate parts of running my business, but the community I’ve found had made it possible.

There's a moment most creative business owners know well It usually hits somewhere between finishing a client project you're genuinely proud of and opening a spreadsheet you haven't touched in three months. It's that quiet, slightly sick feeling of realizing you have no idea what your numbers actual...

April was Financial Literacy Month. I hope you learned something this month that you didn't know before, from someone, somewhere.

Maybe it was a podcast. A conversation with another business owner. A post that finally made something click.

That's the whole point. Not that you learn it all at once, or that you learn it from me specifically. Just that the conversation keeps happening.

Here's what I hope landed for someone this month:
🌼That confusion about money isn't a character flaw.
🪻That bookkeeping and taxes are not the same thing.
🌸That your numbers are trying to tell you something, you might just need someone to help translate.
💐That asking for help is a business strategy, not a shortcut.

If you're leaving April feeling like you still have more questions than answers, that's actually a good sign. It means you're paying attention.

If you want to keep the conversation going, that's exactly what Ledger Lounge is for. A space where money questions are welcome, judgment isn't, and you don't have to figure it out alone.

The door's open. Come find us. 🌿
What's one thing you learned, or finally understood, about your finances this month? I'd love to hear it. 👇

You know that feeling when Sunday night rolls around and you remember you still haven't touched your books?

That low-grade dread isn't just about the bookkeeping. It's about everything else that didn't happen because the bookkeeping was hanging over you all week.

The client you didn't follow up with. The idea you didn't develop. The hour you spent half-working, half-avoiding, not really doing either.

That's the real cost. Not the software subscription. Not what you'd pay someone else. The cost is the mental space it's permanently renting from you, every week you keep doing it yourself.

Delegating your books isn't a luxury decision. It's a capacity decision.
If bookkeeping wasn't on your plate this week, what would you actually do with that time? I'm curious. 👇

Categorizing your transactions is not the same as doing your bookkeeping.

I know. It feels like it should be. You open your app, you sort things into buckets, and it looks organized. Done, right?

Not quite.

Bookkeeping is the full picture: reconciling your accounts, making sure what's in your software actually matches your bank, catching errors, and having reports that actually mean something at the end of the month.

Categorizing is one piece of it. A pile of sorted receipts isn't a set of books.

This isn't a gotcha. Most business owners don't know this because no one told them... and why would they? You were busy learning your actual craft.

Happy Earth Day. 🌱
I’ll keep this one simple today.
This day has always meant something to me… the idea that what we do consistently, in small ways, actually matters. That how we show up for the things we care about compounds over time.
That’s true for the planet. It’s true in community. It’s true in business too.
I started Two Cents because I believe financial clarity shouldn’t only be accessible to people who already have resources. Small businesses, creative people, farmers, makers… they deserve the same footing.
That’s my version of taking care of something worth protecting.
Thanks for being here. Now go outside for a few minutes if you can. 🌍
What’s something you do, whether in your business or your life, that feels small but matters to you? I’d love to know. 👇
