****Important tax information****
Starting September 30, 2025 the IRS will no longer accept, nor issue, paper checks.
What does this mean for you:
• 3rd quarter payroll tax payments must be made online.
• 4th quarter estimate payments must be made online.
• At tax time you must be signed up for direct deposit for a refund.
• At tax time you cannot pay by check for any tax due, you must pay online.
How to pay electronically:
• Automatic withdrawal from your bank account-set up with your tax return efiling process.
o Please alert your tax preparer that you want this option, must be set up prior to e-filing your tax return.
• Pay your estimates or amount due online (without an IRS account) at www.irs.gov/payments .
o Direct Pay with bank account- free, no fees.
o Pay by card or digital wallet- processing fees apply.
• Pay online with your IRS account.
o Direct Pay with bank account- free, no fees.
o Pay by card or digital wallet- processing fees apply.
• Pay online with an EFTPS account www.eftps.gov .
o This takes a couple of weeks before you can use this option due to a mailed confirmation letter to activate the account. Your account must be active before the due date of any payment.
o Becomes inactive after 18 months of non-use.
Refund options:
• Set up direct deposit on your tax return. Bank account name, routing number, and account number required and needs to be entered before e-filing.
• Receive a prepaid debit card from the Department of the Treasury. Daily withdrawal limits may apply.
