Early in my career, I was mistaken for an administrative assistant and asked whether my father let me talk to clients.
Yes, that actually happened.
I spent years watching an industry that seemed more interested in talking about markets and portfolio performance than understanding the people sitting across the table.
And I noticed something else: women weren't always being included in those conversations.
When I founded Hendershott Wealth Management in 2014, I wanted to build something different.
What started as a commitment to serving women became the foundation for how we hire, how we develop expertise, and how we deliver financial advice.
And it taught me something important about growing a business: Your niche shouldn't simply change your marketing. It should change how you operate.
I'm excited to share my first article in InvestmentNews, where I reflect on the decisions that shaped HWM, what we've learned along the way, and why I believe meaningful specialization can be a powerful growth strategy.
I'd love for you to read it!
