🦦 Your bank feed acting suspicious? Same here, little buddy.

🧾 If your transactions suddenly stop importing, it is usually one of three things: your connection expired, your password changed, or your bank had a security update. Most of the time, you just need to reconnect your bank account and let QuickBooks start pulling activity again.
⁣
💸 If duplicate transactions show up, DO NOT just start deleting like you are rage cleaning your junk drawer. Duplicates can happen when an account gets reconnected, transactions are manually uploaded, or something gets deleted instead of excluded. Excluding the duplicate entries is usually the cleaner fix, because sometimes deleted transactions try to come back!

📲 And if your connected bank feed keeps stopping, check whether your bank requires 90 day verification or has a message waiting inside your online banking inbox. Some banks will pause syncing until you verify the connection or clear the message.
⁣
😵‍💫 Bank feed problems are annoying, but they are usually fixable. The trick is knowing what caused the issue before you start clicking buttons and accidentally make the mess bigger.

💰 Saving a few hundred a month now can cost you thousands later.

🤞🏻Sure…it is easy to hire the cheapest bookkeeper and assume things will be handled.

🚩 But I want you to ask them this question…Do you have an accounting background? If their answer is “I know how to use QuickBooks Online,” that is a red flag.

⚠️ Software skills are not the same as accounting knowledge. QuickBooks is a tool. It does not replace understanding debits, credits, and how reports flow together.

📊 If your bookkeeper cannot explain why your numbers look the way they do, you are not getting true bookkeeping. You are getting data entry. Plain and simple.

🔍 I opened a new client’s books and at first glance, everything looked organized. But when we looked closer, the numbers did not make sense.

⚙️ They had an auto rule set so every Amazon charge went to office supplies. That worked…until Amazon was used for business cards, which should be marketing, or parts for a customer job, which should be job costs.

📊 Over time, those small miscategorizations stacked up. Office supplies were inflated. Marketing was understated. Job profitability was wrong.

🧾 Auto rules are helpful, but they cannot think. If you set them once and never review them, your reports may look clean while telling the wrong story. Don’t let your rules go unchecked.
