Job Title: Experienced Tax Preparer

Hours:

Main Tax Season - January 1st thru April 15th: 40+ hours per week

Non-Tax Season - April 16th thru December 31st: 20-30 hours per week (negotiable)

Job Summary
Responsible for income tax preparation for individuals and companies. Identifies potential tax credits and liabilities and ensures accurate and complete returns are filed in a timely manner. Completes tax forms in accordance with policies and in compliance with legislation and regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Preparing simple to complex tax returns for individuals and/or small businesses. (1040, 1041, 1120S, 1120, 1065, 990, 709, etc.)
• Collect and review financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures from clients
• Input data from financial records into Wolters Kluwer CCH Axcess Tax software
• Use all appropriate adjustments, deductions, and credits to ensure maximum tax benefit is applied

Requirements: A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience with the following:
• Complete tax return preparation
• Knowledge of tax law, legal codes, government regulations and IRS rules
• Experience providing exceptional client service and performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number)
• High School Degree or equivalent
• Microsoft Office Professional Suite; especially Word and Excel

Additional Qualifications:
• Must be outgoing, personable, have excellent oral and written skills, and exceptional attention to detail
• Must be comfortable interacting with a wide range of clients over the phone and in person
• Must be comfortable working under pressure to meet set deadlines
• Must be able to manage job related interruptions and questions while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
• Experience with tax software Wolters Kluwer CCH Axcess
