Yesterday I asked women over 40 to share one word that describes this stage of life. The responses were incredible.

Confidence.
Freedom.
Honor.
Energy.
Strength.

There’s another word I hear often when women sit down to talk about their finances.

Security.

Not complicated strategies.
Just the quiet peace of mind that comes from knowing:

Where everything is.
How things work,
and that they will be okay.

Many women tell me:

"I just want to understand things well enough to feel confident making decisions."

And that is completely achievable.

Today on International Women’s Day, I want to recognize a group of women who don’t always get the spotlight. Women over 40.
Because something powerful begins to happen around this age.

Many of us have spent years caring for others. We’ve invested our lives in raising families, supporting partners, helping aging parents, building careers, and quietly holding everything together.

But in this chapter, something shifts.
Women begin asking new questions.
Who am I now?
What do I want the next chapter of my life to look like?
Am I truly prepared for the future I want?

And something beautiful happens…
Experience turns into confidence.
Women start speaking up more.
Trusting their instincts.
Making decisions with greater clarity about their future.

To every woman navigating this stage of life: you are more knowledgeable, more talented, more capable than you realize.
Your experience is your power.

One of the quiet moments I see many women experience in midlife is this…

At some point, many women realize they are now the one responsible for the financial decisions.

Maybe a spouse handled the money before.
Maybe life changed.
Maybe it just suddenly feels important to understand things more clearly.

And with that moment often comes a quiet worry:

"What if I don’t know enough?"

During Women’s History Month, I want to say something to the women in this season of life:

You are not behind.
You are not alone.
And you are far more capable than you think.

I see incredible courage in the women who begin asking questions about their finances. That first question is the beginning of confidence.

If you are learning, growing, and taking ownership of your financial future, I celebrate you this month.

Your next chapter can be one of the strongest yet.
