FYI....
Congress passed the Corporate Transparency Act which requires businesses to report ownership and other sensitive identity information concerning their company to FinCEN using the filing called the BOI Report (Beneficial Ownership Information Report). The Act was created to protect the United States from “illicit finance threats like terrorist financing, drug trafficking, and money laundering.”

Although the Corporate Transparency Act was passed in 2021, it went into effect on January 1, 2024. The original deadline for established companies to file the report is December 31, 2024. Since the Act was passed, it has received much attention with many questioning whether it is constitutional since it poses possible violations to privacy and identity. Others have argued that the Act was a congressional overreach of authority.

A recent federal court has issued a stay order to the mandatory filing while the Act is challenged in courts. Since the court ordered injunction, the report is no longer a requirement. In addition, companies are not subject to liabilities (penalties) for failure to file. However, companies may continue to voluntarily submit the report.

The company Christmas party was today. We grabbed coffee at Caffeine Addicts and made ornaments at 3 Crafty Chics followed by lunch at O’Charley’s! We had lots of fun and fellowship with these hardworking people.
