Year-End Tax Reminder for S-Corp Owners

If you’re an S-Corporation shareholder owning more than 2%, don’t forget this crucial year-end task:

✅ Report health insurance premiums paid on your W-2!

These premiums must be included in your W-2 Box 1 wages (but not subject to Social Security or Medicare taxes). This allows you to deduct the premiums on your personal return under the self-employed health insurance deduction.

✅ Make sure all 2025 premiums paid personally or by the S-Corp are turned into our office as soon as possible to ensure proper reporting!

🔊 New Roth Catch-Up Rule for High Earners – Coming in 2026

Starting in 2026, new IRS rules will change how certain 401(k) catch-up contributions work:

🔹 Who it affects: Employees earning over $145,000 in F**A wages from their employer in the previous year
🔹 What’s changing: Catch-up contributions must be made as after-tax Roth contributions
🔹 Why it matters: Roth contributions grow tax-free and can be withdrawn tax-free in retirement (with exclusions)
🔹 Who’s exempt: The rule doesn’t apply to workers without F**A wages or new hires with no prior income from that employer

👉 Plan ahead now — this change could impact your retirement savings strategy!
