~Did you take multiple investment courses in school?
~Did you study the nuances between stocks, bonds, and alternatives as part of your professional education?
~Did you do the deep dive into tax planning and wealth planning as part of your preparation for adulthood?

No?
Guess what, you're not alone!
If you didn't study this stuff, how are you expected to know how to do it?
The answer is, you're not.

It's ok to say you want help creating wealth. It's ok to admit that you're not an investment expert. It's ok to get help from someone who is!

It's also ok to find out if you even need a financial planner at all! And that question doesn't cost a dime. So reach out, ask, find out if a financial planner is a good fit for you, or if you could just benefit from a handful of financial coaching sessions and then you can DIY it from there.

No question is stupid, no question is shameful, and no question is too insignificant to ask. Acknowledging you don't know something takes strength and bravery, and it inspires respect from others when you can be vulnerable enough to ask.

Making To-Do lists can be very powerful to take those items we often 'want' to do and move them into the 'got it done' column.

Take a few moments and write down a handful of things you WILL get checked off this weekend. And doesn't it feel good to check things off the list?

Here's a sample list to help you get started:

1. Breathe - deep breath in, hold it for 4, out for 4, hold for 4. Repeat 10 times.
2. Stretch - The act of stretching can infuse blood into parts of your body that need it the most, lower your blood pressure, and increase your level of calm.
3. Straighten that spot in your house that accumulates "stuff". We affectionately call this "the dump zone".
4. Run 2 loads of laundry and put it all away.
5. Set a timer for 3 minutes. Sit down in a chair in a quiet room, close your eyes, and be still. Allow your mind to focus on the next 3 things you will accomplish, visualize them finishing them and checking them off. When the timer goes off, get up and do those 3 things immediately.
6. Item 1
7. Item 2
8. Item 3
9. Celebrate your productivity with a dance party in the kitchen with your loved ones.
10. Call your best friend and say hello.
11. Take that laundry out of the dryer and put it away. You know, the load you forgot about in between items 4 and now.
12. Eat a healthy snack.
13. Drink some water.
14. Set a 4 minute timer and scroll social media until the timer goes off. Then set your phone down and do the next 3 things on your list.
15. Item 1
16. Item 2
17 Item 3

You get the idea. Mix productivity with stillness, hydration, happiness, and intention. Not only will this make your day more enjoyable, you might even find that you got more done, you were less stressed while you did it, and at the end of the day, you don't feel sad that you 'missed out' on the day because you had chores to do. If this sounds like it won't work for you, I would encourage you to try it on a handful of days before you decide. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Last 2 items:
1. Make a list for tomorrow
2. Go to bed early

Be well friends, and have a fantastic weekend!

Do you enjoy paying retail price for new clothes? Umm, no. Nobody likes that! You watch for sales, clearance, and coupons, right?

Investing is no different. When the market dips, get excited, because stocks are on clearance! If you haven’t met your Roth or IRA caps for the year, or even if you have, but you have a little extra bucket of money you’re sitting on, get it invested while the market is low!

When the stock market takes a haircut, it’s a great time to buy!

Of course, no two financial plans are the same, and it’s always a good idea to discuss your strategy with your fee-only financial planner before you add money to your portfolio, but don’t wait, because prices WILL go back up again, and you don’t want to miss the sale prices!

If you don’t have a financial planner already, reach out, we can help!

The Lifetime Value of a person has nothing to do with how much money they made, or how many awards they won. It is a culmination of many, many positive relationships.
