🚨 Big News for Small Business Owners & Side Hustlers! 🚨

The IRS is changing the rules for 1099 forms starting in 2026! Here’s what you need to know:

✅ For payment apps & online marketplaces (like PayPal, Venmo, eBay, etc.), you’ll only get a Form 1099-K if you have BOTH:

Over $20,000 in payments AND
More than 200 transactions in a year
✅ For 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC (used for freelancers, contractors, and other nonemployee payments), the reporting threshold jumps to $2,000 (and will be indexed for inflation).

These changes apply to payments made after December 31, 2025.

⚠️ Heads up: Some states have lower thresholds, so you might still get a 1099 even if you don’t hit the federal limit. And remember, you must report all your income, even if you don’t get a form!

🚗 IRS 2026 Standard Mileage Rates 🚗

- Business: 72.5¢/mile
- Medical/Moving: 20.5¢/mile (moving only for certain military & intelligence community)
- Charity: 14¢/mile

Applies to all vehicles, including electric/hybrid. Choose standard rate or actual expenses for deductions.
