🎉 Congratulations to our friends at Gahr's Hamloaf on their new facility in Franklin! It's always exciting to see a local business growing and creating new opportunities. With support from the McElhattan Challenge, Gahr’s has moved its manufacturing operations into a new facility on Atlantic Avenue. The expanded footprint includes larger walk-in refrigeration and freezer space, providing the room needed to increase its fundraising program and introduce a couple of exciting new products in the new year.

Owner Jake Gahr recently welcomed McElhattan Challenge Advisory Board Members Roy Schmoutz and Matt Beith for a look inside the new facility and a chance to see what’s next for this growing local business.

📢 Parents: Have You Claimed Your Child's Trump Account?

I received an email from the IRS today about Trump Accounts and wanted to share this information with other parents who may not be aware of the opportunity!

Trump Accounts are a new type of tax-advantaged investment account designed to help children begin building savings for their financial future.

Here's what parents should know:

✅ Children under 18 with a valid Social Security number may qualify for a Trump Account, even if they were born before 2025.

✅ Children born January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2028, who meet eligibility requirements, can receive a one-time $1,000 contribution from the U.S. Treasury.

✅ Additional contributions may come from family, friends, employers, and other qualifying donors. Your child's account may already have funds available!

✅ Parents must claim and activate their child's account to manage it. Those eligible for the $1,000 government contribution must also request it.

Even if your child doesn't qualify for the $1,000 contribution, it's worth checking whether an account has been established for them and exploring the potential benefits.

The secret is out! After wrapping up my second full day of tax preparation training today, I’m excited to officially announce that Booher Financial Solutions will begin offering personal income tax return preparation in 2027!

Over my 10+ years working in accounting and finance, I’ve had opportunities to help prepare and review tax returns in nearly every role I’ve held. Expanding into personal income tax preparation is something I’ve been looking forward to, and I’m excited to bring that experience to individuals and families looking for knowledgeable, dependable, and personalized service.

My goal is simple: take some of the stress and confusion out of tax season. Whether you have a straightforward return or a more complex tax situation, I want to help you understand your taxes and feel confident throughout the process.

I’ve also invested in technology to make working together as convenient and secure as possible, including:

I spent today attending the first of two full days of professional training as I prepare to expand the services we offer to individuals and businesses in the coming year.

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day from Booher Financial Solutions!

Today is more than a long weekend or the unofficial end of summer. Labor Day is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the hardworking men and women whose dedication, skill, and determination have helped build our businesses, strengthen our communities, and move our country forward.

As a small business owner, I'm especially thankful for the people who get up every day and work hard to provide for their families, serve their customers, support their coworkers, and pursue something better for the future.

I'm also grateful for the business owners who take the risk of building something of their own and for the employees whose hard work helps turn those visions into reality.

Whatever your profession or trade, thank you for the role you play in keeping our communities moving forward.

Today, I hope you're able to enjoy a well-earned break and reflect on the value and dignity of a hard day's work.

🚧 Route 8 / 15th Street Closure & Detour Help for Franklin 🚧

If you’ve found yourself unexpectedly taking a tour of Miller Park while trying to get around the Route 8 / 15th Street closure, you’re definitely not the only one!

Since the closure began, we’ve seen a steady stream of vehicles come up into our neighborhood, circle around, and head right back toward downtown. We even had a tractor trailer make its way into our neighborhood this evening!

To hopefully help our neighbors and anyone traveling through Franklin, we’ve put up Detour signs at the intersection of Adelaide Ave and Plumer Ave with a map and directions for passenger vehicles.

➡️ Detour Route:
• Take Elk St / Liberty St through Franklin
• Turn right onto 3rd St
• Continue as the road becomes Bully Hill Rd going up the hill
• Turn right onto Congress Hill Rd
• Turn right onto Pone Ln
• Follow Pone Ln until you reach Route 8 / 15th St

📍 If you end up circling around Miller Park, look for our signs at Adelaide Ave & Plumer Ave to help point you in the right direction.

Hopefully this saves a few people some confusion over the next few days!

Please share this post to help get the word out, especially if you know someone from out of town who will be traveling through Franklin while the closure is in place.
