Happy New Year!! Welcome to 2020! A new year and a new tax season is rapidly approaching! Here are a few tips to prepare you for the upcoming season.

1. Documents - as your tax documents start arriving in the mail, collect them and store them in one place. Make a folder or large envelope and place those items as soon as they come in, that way you won’t misplace them or have to search for them when the time arrives to prepare your tax return.

2. Get them done early - All tax forms should be delivered to you either electronically or by snail mail by the end of January 2020. Once you receive everything, come on in and check that box off early this year!

3. Ask questions and educate yourself - no matter who prepares your taxes, ask questions if you don’t understand something. Many people drop off their forms and accept whatever fate has in store for them. Feel free to ask questions on how to reduce your tax liabilities. Be educated on the new and/or old tax laws. We are here to answer those questions for you!

It is the end of the month and you should have received your W-2 and 1099s. Now is a great time to gather all of your tax information! If you have questions about what you need for your taxes give us a call!

The office will be closed from December 24, 2018 until January 4, 2019. We will be spending the holidays with our families and wish you the best this season! The office will be open again on January 9, 2019 and every Wednesday and Thursday from 10 am until 2 pm. Starting January 28, 2019, the office will start seasonal tax hours and will be open Monday through Friday from 10 am until 2 pm. However we still can be reached by email even during closed business hours if you still need us! Season Greetings!
