This year we will be working to collect donations for The Prodigals Home in Jonesville. The Prodigals Home is a rehab and sober living house that is centered on overcoming addiction and finding Faith. If anyone would like to contribute, we will be taking donations of hygiene products/toiletries, coffee, food, snacks, etc. We will be taking the donations collected to The Prodigals Home once a month from now through the end of April.

Some of you may not know that in September my 15 year old son passed away. Things have been a little hectic since then as I have tried to find my way. I apologize for any delays that this may have caused you. I am back to work full time now and look forward to seeing you guys this season. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Last year a client came to me with one heck of a situation! Her husband received a w2 several years in a row for a place he never worked at. The IRS was taking their refunds and saying they still owed more money. They had had several bad experiences with different tax offices in the area and were beyond frustrated. It’s been a little over a year since they came to me and we have been back and forth with the IRS trying to get this straightened out. Yesterday out of the blue I get a message from them. It was a letter from the SSA stating they had finally fixed the 3 years worth of W2s that didn’t belong to him. Now mind you this is only half the battle. We still got to battle to get them the refunds that were taken from them due to these incorrect W2s. But at least we are making progress!!!!

I’m telling you this for 2 reasons:
1. If you find yourself in a situation with the IRS Do NOT panic! When you get a letter from the IRS call/text/email me just like the people above did and get me a copy of the letter so I can help you take care of it. Do NOT expect quick or immediate results! It’s going to take time for us to solve the problem but if we work together we will get it handled!
2. I sent out letters and made phone call after phone call but there was a couple times where I was unable to speak on her behalf. I talked her through what to do in those instances and we worked together to solve the problem they were having. Not only did I get to meet an amazing person and get to know her and her husband but I was able to help them and that’s why I do what I do. I meet some incredible people that I now consider to be friends. I’ve seen some people i was friends with but haven’t seen since high school. And I get to help people.
