This is your sign to stop hosting boring lunch meetings. 👏🏓🌯🍷

Today at 3rd Shot Pickleball, we hosted our Lunch, Learn, Wine & Work event with Rachel Thomas of Ascend Point Financial and it was the perfect mix of business, connection, and FUN.

We had Qdoba catered, time in our event room to learn and connect using the projector, and then wrapped it up with pickleball on the courts. Honestly… this is how workdays should feel. 🙌

If you’ve been looking for a fresh way to host your next:
✨ Lunch & Learn
✨ Team meeting
✨ Networking event
✨ Client appreciation
✨ Team-building outing

Our event room + pickleball combo is a game changer.

You can customize your experience:
🏓 1 hour in the event room + 30 minutes of pickleball
OR
🏓 30 minutes in the event room + 1 hour of pickleball

Now be honest 👀
If your group came in for a daytime event, what are you choosing?

A = more learning + meeting time 💼
B = more pickleball + fun time 🏓

I spent part of the morning pulling weeds and checking on my flowers after last night's severe weather.

It reminded me that growth is rarely about doing one big thing perfectly. Most of the time, it's about showing up consistently, pulling out what doesn't belong, and giving the good stuff room to grow.

The same is true financially.

A lot of people think financial success comes from finding the perfect investment or making one big move. More often, it comes from understanding your options, making informed decisions, and staying consistent over time.

That's why I'm passionate about financial education. Knowledge creates confidence, and confidence creates growth.

Now if only my flower beds would stay weed-free with the same amount of effort. 🌹😆

What a fun afternoon with the team at Studio Hype! 💃

One of my favorite moments from today’s presentation happened when we talked about saving just $5 a day.

Not $500.

Not a perfect “budget”.

Not giving up things you enjoy.

Just starting somewhere.

Sometimes people assume financial education has to be complicated.

It doesn’t.

Small steps, taken consistently, can make a bigger difference than most people realize.

Thank you to the amazing team at Studio Hype for welcoming me and allowing me to spend the afternoon with you. 💙

And if you’ve ever attended one of my classes, you know that’s my goal every single time: helping people learn at least one thing they didn’t know before.

Raise your hand if TAXES in retirement were NOT part of your plan. 🙋 Yeah. Same. 😅

Here's something that catches a lot of people completely off guard — and honestly, it's not your fault nobody told you. 💛

Most of us spend decades doing the responsible thing. 💪🏽 Saving. Contributing to the 401k. Watching that balance grow. Feeling good about the future.

And then retirement actually arrives and — surprise — a big portion of what you saved? The IRS wants their cut. 😤💸

Traditional retirement accounts are tax-DEFERRED. Meaning you don't pay taxes now... you pay them later.

When you're retired and living on a fixed income. That's a detail that changes the whole picture. 🤯

But here's the part I love sharing 😊 — there are completely legal strategies that have been used by financially savvy families for DECADES that allow your money to grow and be accessed completely tax-free in retirement. Not tax-deferred. Tax-FREE. 💰✨

More of YOUR money. Staying in YOUR pocket.

Living the retirement you actually planned for — not a reduced version of it after taxes. 🙌🏽

Whether you're 25 or 55 this conversation matters. ⏳ The earlier you start the more powerful it becomes — but today is genuinely always better than waiting.

This is one of my absolute favorite topics to break down because the lightbulb moment people have is everything. 💡😊

It's covered weekly it in detail during our FREE Money 101 event on Zoom or the monthy event in person!

💰 Before 2025 ends, let's talk about a retirement mistake almost EVERYONE is making. 😰

You contribute to your 401k. ✅
You get the company match. ✅
You feel good about "saving for retirement." ✅

But did you know that money is ALL taxable when you take it out? 💸😱

Here's the math that will terrify you: 📊

1️⃣ You work 30-40 years contributing to a 401k 💼

2️⃣ You finally retire with $500,000, hopefully more saved! 🎉

3️⃣ But when you withdraw that money? The government takes 20-30% 😰

4️⃣ Your $500,000 is really only $350,000-$400,000 💔

Tax-free retirement strategies flip the script: 🔄 ✨

Money grows with NO loss (zero is your hero) 📈 ✨

Withdrawals are 100% tax-free 💰 ✨

Pass wealth to kids tax-free 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 ✨

Access money in emergencies without penalties 🛡️

As a nurse who worked WAY too many night shifts to give my retirement away to taxes, I'm passionate about this. 💪

You will want to be too. 🔥

Before we close out 2025, let's make sure your retirement plan actually works FOR you, not against you. 💚✨

👵 Women need more retirement savings than men, yet we have less. Let's fix that. 💪

Here's the math that keeps me up at night: 📊

1️⃣ Women live 5-7 years longer than men on average ⏰

2️⃣ Women earn less over their lifetimes 💸

3️⃣ Women take more career breaks for caregiving 👶👴

4️⃣ Women face higher healthcare costs in retirement 🏥💰

Yet women have significantly LESS saved for retirement than men. 😰💔

Add a serious health crisis like cancer to the mix? 🎗️

Many women never financially recover.

Their retirement dreams disappear along with their savings. 😢

I've seen it as a nurse: Women in their 60s-70s still working because they had to drain retirement accounts during a health crisis in their 40s-50s. 💔

The "golden years" that never came. ✨❌

This is why tax-free retirement strategies and living benefits matter SO much for women:

💪 🌟 Tax-free retirement = more money stays in YOUR pocket when you need it most

🌟 Living benefits = your retirement stays protected even if you face critical illness

🌟 Proper planning = you don't have to choose between health and wealth

Ladies, we MUST take our retirement planning seriously. 💰

We're going to live longer - let's make sure we can actually enjoy those extra years! 🎉✨
Your future self is counting on present-you to make smart decisions. 🙏💚

💊 They told her she had great health insurance. They forgot to mention it wouldn't save her house. 🏠💔

I met with a breast cancer survivor last week. 🎗️

Her insurance covered her treatment (mostly). ✅

Her employer held her job. ✅

Her family was supportive. ✅

But she lost her house. 😢

Why?

Because having health insurance and having financial protection are two completely different things. 🤯

Her story: 📖
1️⃣ Diagnosed in October 2024 🎗️

2️⃣ Treatment lasted 9 months ⏰

3️⃣ Too sick to work months 3-7 😷

4️⃣ Used all her sick/vacation time ✅

5️⃣ Short-term disability covered 60% of income (not enough for mortgage + bills) 💸

6️⃣ Emergency fund gone by month 2 💔

7️⃣ Started missing mortgage payments by month 4 🏠❌

8️⃣ House in foreclosure by month 10 😰

She beat cancer but lost her home. 💔

She survived the disease but not the financial devastation. 😢

This is why I'm so passionate about living benefits and comprehensive financial planning. 💪

Health insurance handles medical bills. Living benefits handle LIFE bills. 🛡️✨

A lump sum payment at diagnosis could have: 💰

✅ Covered her mortgage for the entire treatment period

✅ Replaced lost income

✅ Given her peace of mind to focus on healing

✅ Saved her home

October reminds us to check for cancer AND check our financial protection. 🎗️💚

Both could save your life as you know it. 💪

Ready to make sure your family is protected?

👩 Fun fact: Women are more likely to get screened for breast cancer than to have a financial plan. 🎗️💰

We'll schedule our mammograms ✅
do our self-exams ✅
wear pink in October ✅
.. but when it comes to financial planning? "I'll get to it eventually." 🤷‍♀️

As a nurse AND financial consultant, I see this pattern constantly. 😰

We take better care of everyone else than we take care of our own financial futures. 💔

Here's the reality, ladies: 💪 📊

Women live longer than men (yay!) but that means we need MORE retirement savings. 📊

Women are more likely to take career breaks for caregiving (affecting our earning potential). 📊

Women face higher healthcare costs, especially as we age. 📊

70% of women will be solely responsible for their finances at some point.

Yet we're the LEAST likely to have: 🚫
1️⃣ Adequate life insurance
2️⃣ Retirement plans beyond a basic 401k
3️⃣ Emergency funds for medical crises
4️⃣ Living benefits for critical illness

We'll advocate for our health but not our wealth. 😢

We'll fight for good medical care but not for good financial care. Why? 🤔

This October, let's change that. 💗

Schedule your mammogram AND schedule time to review your financial protection.

Both are preventive care.

Both are self-care. Both matter. ✨

💗 October reminds us that life can change in an instant with just three words: "You have cancer." 🎗️

As a nurse, I've delivered that diagnosis more times than I can count. 😢

The shock, the fear, the immediate mental checklist of "what now?" 🤯

But here's what breaks my heart - within days, that fear shifts from "Will I survive?" to "How will we pay for this?" 💔💸

I've watched strong women choose cheaper treatments over better ones because of cost. 😰

I've seen families drain savings accounts for experimental therapies insurance won't cover. 💳

I've held hands with patients more stressed about their mortgage than their mastectomy. 🏠😢

This is exactly why living benefits exist. 🛡️✨

Living benefits are life insurance that pays YOU while you're alive when diagnosed with cancer or other critical illnesses.

Not your medical bills - those are what health insurance is for. This money is for: 💰

1️⃣ Your mortgage while you can't work 🏠

2️⃣ Groceries and daily expenses 🛒

3️⃣ Childcare while you're in treatment 👶

4️⃣ Travel to specialty cancer centers ✈️

5️⃣ Experimental treatments insurance denies 🧬

6️⃣Simply surviving financially while you focus on surviving physically 💪

Because the only thing you should be fighting is cancer - not bankruptcy. 🎗️💚
