Help your employee's protect themselves from fraudulent refunds... e-file your 1099's & W-2's! I don't necessarily agree with moving up the date due to correction requests that come in after Feb. 1st, but I do think electronically filing of all 1099's and W-2's would be a huge step forward.

The Internal Revenue Service is being urged to move up its W-2 filing deadline to January 31 and to lower the threshold for requiring electronic filing of W-2 returns in an effort to curb the growing trend of identity theft related tax fraud.
