November is the month when the Medicare and MNsure annual election periods (open enrollment) intersect. To give you an idea of the consumer confusion and the resulting need to find accurate information, our website traffic was 345% higher than normal this November. Clients rely on us. Our work deserves fair compensation.

This is an unprecedented Medicare annual election period. UCare will not be offering any Medicare Advantage plans next year, which means 158,000 people in MN are losing their coverage. On top of that, almost all of the insurance companies are NOT paying agents for helping people sign up for a new plan.

88% of Medicare beneficiaries say that shopping for a plan is overwhelming and confusing, which is why they work with a broker. Not all seniors have access to a computer, nor do they feel comfortable calling a 1-800 number; they want to speak to someone in person.

We are doing our best to help our existing clients and referral partners. We are inundated with calls from people losing coverage. Please be patient this year.

We are currently in the open enrollment/annual election period for Medicare and health insurance purchased through the exchange (Affordable Care Act).

There is A LOT of misinformation and fear in the media about premiums, the extended tax credits, and increasing costs. I am well versed and experienced in all marketplaces--Medicare, Medicaid, MNsure, and small and large employer group plans.
