I know TikTok told y’all everything is a deduction but PLEASE 😭
Just because you spent money doesn't mean it's deductible.
One of the biggest mistakes I see is business owners assuming every expense qualifies as a tax deduction.
A good rule of thumb:
👉 Necessary for your business? Probably.
👉 Personally beneficial? Probably not.
No…
❌ Home office when you don't actually have a dedicated office
Working from the kitchen table usually doesn't qualify.
❌ Pet expenses
Just because your dog sits beside you while you work doesn't make them an employee. 😂
❌ Traffic tickets and parking tickets
The IRS doesn't reward bad driving.
❌ Regular work clothes
Scrubs = usually yes
Company-branded uniforms = usually yes
Lululemon leggings for work = usually no
❌ Personal groceries
"I work from home so I need food to work."
❌ Family vacations labeled as "business trips"
One business phone call during a beach vacation doesn't automatically make the trip deductible.
Tax strategy is real. Fraud is also real 😂
