Many of you who received unemployment benefits have already filed your tax returns. The bill that recently passed ruled that the first $10,200 of those benefits are now not taxable. The IRS is telling people not to amend those returns. This article is saying they will process the refunds automatically.

The IRS plans to automatically process refunds for people who paid taxes on unemployment income before the American Rescue Plan made a portion tax-free.

The IRS announced that it will not be able to accept returns until February 12. If you were planning on making your appointment before then you should still do so. We will complete your return and make sure it is ready to file right away on the 12th.

Keep track of how many days you actually worked in Grand Rapids and how many days you worked at home to get a city tax refund.
