IR-2021-159, July 28, 2021 — The Internal Revenue Service reported today that another 1.5 million taxpayers will receive refunds averaging more than $1,600 as it continues to adjust unemployment compensation from previously filed income tax returns.

The proposed bill this week would waive federal income taxes on the first $10,200 of unemployment benefits that Americans received in 2020. DON’T LET OPPORTUNISTS MAKE MONEY ON YOUR FEAR!

You may be running a fast-paced business or life or both and facing enough stress as it is when messages such as below come through and makes you feel vulnerable and confused.

Of course you don’t want identity theft to happen to you on your tax return. Of course you don’t want someone to claim your refund and for you to be left in a ditch. But it doesn’t quite work this way. So you have nothing to fear and don’t need the services of such companies that are just like the thieves they are “trying to protect you from”.

First of all, IRS has implemented identity theft checks by having the taxpayer include their drivers license information which they match with the DMV records.

Second of all, as soon as you file your tax return, if someone tried to use your social security number, your return will be rejected and wouldn’t be allowed to be filed electronically. At that point you will know that someone else got your refund and the IRS will give you steps on how to prevent this in the future and will definitely undeniably give you your earned refund.

So, you don’t have to check your credit because of identity theft with the IRS. And you don’t have to use a company to check if someone stole your identity to get a refund.
