I can laugh at the workout videos because… come on. 😂 But the story behind them really isn’t funny.

Daejon Love is accused by federal prosecutors of posing as a San Francisco 49ers player and using romantic relationships and fake investment opportunities to defraud women. Authorities say at least 26 women lost approximately $1.3 million. These are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

And while it’s easy to watch a story like this and think, “How could someone fall for that?” I don’t think that’s a fair response.

I’ve personally dealt with investment fraud involving real estate investments, so I understand how painful it can be when someone you trusted isn’t who they presented themselves to be.

Scammers don’t usually approach you looking like scammers. They build trust. They create credibility. They show you things that appear legitimate. And sometimes that relationship develops over months or even years.

That’s why conversations like this are important.

Before investing your money, slow down and do your own research. Verify the person. Verify the company. Verify where your money is actually going. And please don’t feel embarrassed about getting another opinion.

That might mean talking with a financial professional or even hiring a financial coach. It could also be as simple as sitting down with a trusted friend or family member and saying, “Can you look at this with me before I send any money?”

Sometimes another set of eyes catches the red flag we miss when trust, excitement, pressure—or even love—is involved.

And if someone discourages you from asking questions, researching the opportunity or talking to other people about the investment?

That alone should make you ask more questions.

We need to be able to talk about investment fraud without shaming the people who fall victim to it. The more openly we talk about these situations, the better chance someone else has of recognizing the warning signs before it happens to them. 🤍

Please tell me I’m not the only one whose hobbies are basically creating more things for myself to do. 😂

And yes, adding things to my cart and closing the app absolutely counts as saving money. 💁‍♀️

Anyone else? 😂

I’ve been back at work for a few months now, but I still remember how weird that first transition felt. 😂😭

One minute you’re home soaking up every moment with your baby, and the next you’re back to meetings, emails and running a business like everything is normal.

I love what I do, but that doesn’t make leaving my babies any easier. 🤍

Working moms, how was your first week back?

I actually think there’s some truth here… especially when we convince ourselves that “having it all” means doing everything, all the time.

I’m a mom, a wife, and a business owner. I want to be present for my family AND continue building a career I’m proud of. But I’ve learned that trying to give 100% of myself to everything at the exact same time is a quick way to give my best to nothing.

For me, it comes down to treating my time almost like I treat my money.

You have a limited amount, so you have to decide where it goes.

I section off time for work. I protect time for my family. I have days where work gets completely put away. And I try to make space for myself too… although I'm definitely still working on that one. 😂

Balance also doesn’t mean every part of your life gets an equal percentage every day. Sometimes work needs more. Sometimes your kids need more. Sometimes you need more.

The important part is being intentional enough to recognize which one needs you right now.

Maybe we can have a career, raise a family, travel, chase big goals and build the life we want.

We just shouldn’t expect ourselves to do all of it at once, all of the time. 🤍

Working moms, I’m curious, do you agree with her take? How have you found balance between your career and your family?

Postpartum is such a strange season because so many opposite feelings can exist at the exact same time.

You can be completely in love with your baby and still miss who you were before.

You can want to soak up every second and desperately need a break.

You can love your husband and still not want anyone touching you.

You can be surrounded by the people you love most and somehow still feel alone.

And then there’s looking in the mirror and trying to recognize this new version of yourself while your camera roll is filled with moments you never want to forget.

Motherhood can be beautiful, exhausting, joyful, lonely, overwhelming and incredible all at once.

I’m learning that I don’t have to feel guilty for any of those emotions. I can be unbelievably grateful for this life and still admit that some days are really hard.

Both can be true. 🤍

For the moms who have been through postpartum, or are in it right now, what has this season felt like for you? I’d love to hear the parts people don’t talk about enough.

That mom guilt can hit HARD when in bed.

Sometimes you’re holding your baby thinking about work… then you’re working and thinking about how you should be holding your baby. 🤍

I’m learning that it doesn’t have to be one or the other.

Your baby deserves your presence, especially during a season that goes by way too fast. But having a baby doesn’t mean your dreams, career or ambition suddenly disappear either.

Sometimes balance means putting the laptop away and being completely present. Sometimes it means planning ahead and saying, “I’m taking this extra call tonight because it’s helping build something for our future.”

The important part for me is being intentional about the sacrifice instead of constantly sacrificing everything.

And if you’re lying awake at 2am thinking about changing careers, starting that business, investing more seriously or finally making that move you’ve been putting off… maybe listen to yourself.

Maybe you need a break.

Or maybe becoming a mom has made you realize you want something different from your life.

Either answer is okay.

You don't have to figure out the next 20 years tonight. Just start thinking about the next step.

Because whether you’re investing in a business, a new career, or literally investing for your family’s future… the best thing you can give time is more time. ❤️
