Earlier this year, we partnered with the Suffolk County Police Department for an educational seminar on identity theft and financial crimes. The turnout and response were tremendous — and we heard from a number of people who wished they had been able to attend.
So we’re doing it again — this time with a bigger venue and an even greater opportunity to reach our community.
I’m very excited to partner with the Town of Huntington and our good friend Councilwoman Theresa Mari for another important conversation about protecting yourself and the people you care about from identity theft, scams and financial fraud.
Joining us will be Det. Theresa Palmer and Det. Sgt. Tom Gabriele of the Suffolk County Police Department Financial Crimes Unit, who will share what they are seeing firsthand and some of the ways criminals are targeting individuals, families and older adults.
We’ll discuss:
• Current identity theft and financial crime trends
• How today’s scams work — and the warning signs to watch for
• Practical steps to help protect your identity, accounts and assets
• How law enforcement and financial professionals can work together to help prevent and respond to fraud

If you attended our February program, we’d love to have you join us again. And if you missed the first one, this is your opportunity.
Identity theft and financial fraud continue to evolve, and education is one of the best tools we have to stay a step ahead.
Please feel free to share this invitation with family, friends and anyone in our community who might benefit.

Looking forward to seeing you on October 2nd.
