Hey guys. You may have already seen this post, but the first post would not allow other people to share. Please feel free to share!

Brandon L Johnson's stepdad recently received the most unfortunate news that he has leukemia and is in dire need of blood and prayers. If you are a blood donor or know of someone that is, your gift would be greatly appreciated. Let us or Brandon know if you are interested and we will get you the information you will need to ensure he receives your gift.

If we can get at least 25 people to commit we can get a bus to come set up at our office . If not, their is a blood service center in Cleveland. Thank you in advance!!!

The Mississippi Department of Revenue has made the decision to extend the tax filing deadline to July 15th, instead of May 15th, as originally planned. This will include any balance due for 2019 and estimated payments. The first and second quarter estimated tax payments will now both be due on July 15th.

The extension will apply to Individual Income Tax returns, Corporate Income and Franchise Tax returns, and Fiduciary Income Tax returns.

Stimulus Check Update:

The IRS has created an application on their website to update your banking information to receive your stimulus check by direct deposit rather than by mail.

This will be very useful if you normally have to pay taxes with your tax return, received prior refunds by mail, or have changed banks since filing your 2018 tax return file. Note: If you have filed your 2019 tax return and your banking information has changed since then, you will not be able to change your banking information.

There is also an option for individuals who normally aren't required to file a tax return. The IRS already has banking information for people who receive Social Security or disability benefits by direct deposit. Go to the below website to update your information.

We’re committed to helping you get your economic impact, or stimulus, payment as soon as possible. See if you are eligible for an Economic Impact Payment.

When mailing out stimulus checks, the IRS will use the last known address from either your 2018 or 2019 tax return. So if you have recently moved or your current address is different from your most recent filed tax return, then you should file Form 8822 with the IRS and a change of address notice with the U.S. Postal Service.

If you received your most recent federal tax return via direct deposit, then the IRS will direct deposit your stimulus check into your bank account.

If your bank account has since changed, the IRS will get notification from the bank of an invalid account and the IRS will then mail the stimulus check to the most recent address on file.

Stimulus Check Update...

Based on early reports, once the stimulus measure is passed by the House and signed into law, the IRS will determine eligibility, how much a person would receive, and where stimulus checks would be sent based on information from 2019 tax returns. If you haven't filed your 2019 tax return yet, the IRS would then use the information from your 2018 tax return.

If this is the case, we encourage you to file your 2018 tax return immediately if you haven't already done so. Also, if you had a child in 2019 and haven't filed your 2019 tax return we encourage you to file your return as soon as possible.

Important Update!

The Mississippi Department of Revenue has extended the deadline to file and pay individual and corporate income tax until May 15th, which will not coincide with the federal extension of July 15th.

Remember these extensions mean if you owe taxes you can wait to pay by the respective deadlines before any additional penalty and interest is incurred.

We encourage all of our clients to submit your information to us as soon as possible in order to file your return by the May 15th deadline. Again, we can receive your information by mail, delivery, and email.

Go ahead and file your taxes as you normally would to avoid any confusion.

The U.S. is extending the April 15 tax-filing deadline to July 15, giving people more time to prepare and pay their taxes during the coronavirus outbreak, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Friday.

“All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties,” Mr. Mnuchin said on Twitter.
