IRS Cat Lovers?

You gotta laugh at this one... Apparently, the IRS is NOT feeling the love for cat rescuers. Like, seriously? Cats? Come on! Anyway, a cat rescue group got DENIED tax-exempt status in a Private IRS ruling because the IRS said that cats don't qualify as "farm animals." 😹

But wait, it gets even better (or worse, depending on how you look at it). The group had applied for tax-exempt status as an AGRICULTURAL organization! 🤣 I mean, come on, they're rescuing cats from shelters and giving them a home until their next forever home, it's not like they're raising crops or something!

And if that wasn't enough, the cat lovers also operate a cat cafe where they charge an admission fee and sell food and beverages to feed the rescued cats. 🍵🐱

Like, can you even imagine the looks on the faces of the IRS agents when they came up with this stuff? 🙄 It's like they're trying to make it impossible for these do-gooders to operate.

Anyway, I digress. I guess what I'm saying is... can we all just take a moment to appreciate the absurdity of it all and have a collective eye roll for the IRS's lack of feline appreciation? 🤯🐾

Thanks for reading,
Jack McDonough

P.S. If you want to support cat rescuers and help them avoid any more run-ins with the IRS, consider adopting a furry little friend while you're thinking about it! 🐰💕
