EITC/ACTC Refunds (PATH Act): By law, the IRS cannot issue refunds for returns claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) until mid-February.

The IRS expects most of these refunds to be available in bank accounts by March 2, 2026, for taxpayers who choose direct deposit and have no issues with their returns.

"Where's My Refund" Updates: For early EITC/ACTC filers, the "Where's My Refund?" tool will provide projected deposit dates by February 21, 2026.

📢 Tax Refund Update
The IRS is currently issuing income tax refunds for returns without refundable credits, such as the Earned Income Credit (EITC) or the Child Tax Credit (CTC).
If your return does not include these credits, your refund may be released now.
Refunds that include EITC or CTC are released later, in accordance with IRS guidelines.

The most asked question:
CAN I USE MY LAST CHECK STUB TO GET A TAX ADVANCED?
It is illegal for a tax preparer to use your final pay stub to officially prepare and e-file your tax return with the IRS. Filing an official tax return using a pay stub, even to get a cash advance, is a violation of IRS rules.
