The IRS has officially announced the beginning of the 2024 tax filing season. January 27, 2025 is the first day tax returns will be accepted for processing. So it begins!

The IRS on Friday announced January 27 as the official start date of the 2025 tax season, and expects more than 140 million tax returns to be filed by the April 15 tax deadline.

A federal appeals court has just *reinstated* the injunction for the BOI filing. So, the BOI filing requirement is once again on hold until further notice/update.

Three days after a panel of judges granted a government motion to lift the injunction, another panel said it was reinstating a lower court’s ruling. Yesterday a federal court lifted the injunction on the Beneficial Ownership Interest (BOI) filing requirement by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). BOI reports will now be required, and the deadline to report ownership interests is January 13, 2025. We would be happy to assist you with the BOI filing requirement.
