Machal Tax Service is open again to in person appointments. At this time, I can accept walk ins but if you arrive and a client is already in the office, please wait outside until they have left as I have to limit us to one client in the office at a time. I'm asking that if you have a mask, please bring it with you. If you don't have one and want one, I have loaners that are sterilized between each use. We are very flexible for appointment times, Monday - Saturday. The office will be closed on Memorial Day and July 4th. I can still take drop offs and you can pick them up if you prefer. COVID 19 has changed things for us. In order to receive the stimulus payment, those people who are not required to file a tax return, will have to file a simple one this year. I am offering to file these returns for you as cheap as I can and still cover my time and supplies. These will be filed at a cost of $25.00 per return. This will include the return preparation and electronic filing to the IRS. In order to file the return, I will need your Social Security statement, date of birth, and bank information for direct deposit. You can email this information to me at [email protected] or you can put everything in an envelope and drop it in my lockbox by the office door. Be sure to include your phone number. It has been announced that tax filing season has been extended till July 15th. I have decided that the responsible thing for me to do is close Machal Tax Service for at least 2 weeks. At this time, I plan to re-open on Monday April 6th. If that changes I will let you know. I can still be reached by phone at 859-247-0030 or email at [email protected]. Machal Tax Service is open and will remain open until someone tells me that I can't be. The IRS has granted a 90 day extension till July 15th to pay any taxes that you may owe, but as of now the filing deadline is still April 15th. The Covid19 virus has forced all of us to find new and unconventional ways of taking care of the things that have to be done.
I understand that everyone is very nervous about being in public or sitting face to face for appointments. We offer a drop off service which allows you to drop off your documents and pick up the completed tax return within a day or 2. We can also prepare your return via email if you prefer. You can scan your documents and email them to us. I will prepare your return and email to you the form you have to sign. You may return that signed form with a ck for fee payment through the mail or you can return the form by email and pay the fee with credit/debit card. I will mail you a hard copy of your return. Your return will be filed with the IRS electronically.
For those of you who would prefer to make an appointment, I assure you we are doing everything possible to keep you safe by sanitizing everything touched between clients.

ATTENTION
RECIPIENTS OF INSURANCE
THROUGH KYNECT....

If you have received a letter from the IRS recently because you have insurance at little or no cost, you are REQUIRED to file a tax return for 2014. You would also have received a form 1095A earlier this year. This form is necessary to file your return. If you do not file you will most likely lose your insurance benefits for 2016. Even if you have little or no income, you still must file a tax return.
Machal Tax Service is offering a flat fee of $30 for filing this return. This includes all necessary documents and electronic filing for your return.

FYI...For all of you who see the ads for "free" tax filing...If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. The only form that's free is the 1040EZ form. The only taxpayers who can use this form are single or married filing jointly with NO dependents. You can claim W-2 income, unemployment, and a small amount of interest income such as a savings account etc. There are additional charges for the state and e-filing. Nothing is really free in today's world.

FYI...I know there's been some confusion based on news reports that the IRS will not accept returns until Jan 30. This does not mean that you cannot bring in your information and have your return prepared before that date. We have already begun preparing returns. As soon as you have your paperwork that part can be done. They will stay in a pending file until Jan 30 and on that day I will transmit all of them to the IRS. So, if you have your information, beat the crowds and make your appointment now.
