Rate vs. APR: They sound similar, but they're NOT the same.
One of the biggest mistakes I see homebuyers make is comparing lenders based only on the interest rate.
The interest rate affects your monthly principal and interest payment.
The APR (Annual Percentage Rate) includes the interest rate plus many of the costs associated with getting the loan, giving you a better picture of the loan's overall cost.
A lower rate doesn't always mean it's the better deal.
Sometimes a slightly higher rate can actually save you money because it comes with fewer upfront costs.
Before choosing a lender, compare the whole picture—not just the headline rate.
If you're ever comparing Loan Estimates and aren't sure which loan is actually better, send them my way. I'll walk you through the numbers with no pressure and no obligation.
