It appears that the IRS will open to accept returns on January 26th. So any returns filed on or before that date electronically should receive their refunds on or before February 16th. If you’re able to file before that date I’ll be able to transmit your return on the 26th so you can be one of the first ones to receive your refund. Income tax time is rapidly approaching. So now's the time to start gathering all your receipts, travel logs, and any other documents needed to file your 2025 taxes.

JUST FYI: The IRS is phasing out the option of issuing paper checks for refunds in 2025. If you request a paper check from the IRS as a refund you will be sent a form from the IRS and you MUST return this form immediately so they can process. Normally it takes 6-8 weeks to receive this type of refund and this will add additional time to the process. BUT-if you absolutely need your refund this way, we have banks that can process this request and you can receive your refund in 30-45 days. If there is any way you can process your return electronically, you will get your Fereral refund direct deposited into your checking or savings account within 21 days.

It’s the 3rd week of January and many of you are starting to receive W2’s and/or 1099’s from your employers. For those of you on Social Security of SS Disability you should be begin receiving your SSA-1099 this week. Hold tight to those because if you misplace it; you’ll have to wait until sometime after Jan 31st to replace it-usually by per the 2nd week of January.

Corporate returns are due March 15th which means if your personal account needs to tied to it-you really need to have both ready by that date.
