Bryan Zic, Financial Advisor - AIF, FSCP My introduction to the financial services business came at a relatively young age. I reside with my wife, Angelina in the Chicagoland area.

Given that my father has been a financial planner for 40 years, I have had an insider’s view into the career. I started my career as a financial professional with MetLife in 2015 before becoming a MassMutual Illinois financial professional in 2016 and have now transitioned into my current position at WestPoint Financial Group in 2020. As a financial professional at WestPoint Financial Group, I assist my clients with crucial future strategies. I work with clients who are at or nearing retirement and who are concerned about not having to compromise their lifestyle as they approach this next phase of life. I frequently coordinate my recommendations with my clients’ attorneys, accountants, and CPAs – a process that requires collaboration and communication. A graduate of Governors State University, I earned dual degrees in business administration and entrepreneurship. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, golfing, bowling, and attending sporting events. I am an active member of the Parkview Christian Church and I work from the Homer Glen, Illinois office.

Three things for an employee to look at if your ESOP company is sold:

1️⃣ What does this mean for you financially? It’s important to be clear on the details – price per share, deal structure, and your voting rights are all important considerations.

2️⃣ How and when you’ll get paid – this varies, so it is important to be clear on the details about vesting, payout timing, and form of payment to expect.

3️⃣ Taxes and distribution options – for many employees, this may be the largest sum of money ever received, so it’s important to understand how it is taxed and how it fits in your overall financial plan.

Don’t go it alone – I can help you understand these considerations and more. Let’s connect.
