Laundry day with kittens is almost as complicated as staying on top of those never-ending life tasks–like keeping your will up-to-date. Just when you think it’s ready to be checked off, life pounces, whether it’s a career change, a move, a new grandkid, etc.

One of my best tips: A “finished” plan isn’t realistic, and it isn’t the goal, anyway.

Instead, focus on making a flexible plan. A good estate plan is a constantly evolving strategy, not something you should fold up and file away.

I was little when my dad started inviting me to dig in the garden next to him. He was the one who introduced me to the wonder of growing something incredible from a tiny seed, which is an experience I still can’t get enough of.

I have a lot of beautiful memories and learned so many good life lessons, thanks to him. It just goes to show that small moments can have a big impact.
