Some days remind us what makes CWA special—and this was one of them.

Our Summer Beach Bash was more than an afternoon in the sun. It was an opportunity to pause, step away from the office, and celebrate the incredible people who make CWA what it is each day, along with the families who support them behind the scenes.

From sharing great food and cheering each other on in friendly games to swimming, laughter, and simply spending quality time together, every moment reflected the sense of community we’ve worked hard to build. These gatherings remind us that while we’re proud of the work we do, we’re even more grateful for the people we get to do it with.

The General Excise Tax is one of the most commonly misunderstood tax obligations for businesses in Hawai'i.

Unlike a sales tax, the GET is a tax on the privilege of doing business here — and it applies broadly to gross receipts across most business activities, including many service businesses.

The rate you pay depends on the type of activity. Most businesses operating in Hawai'i are required to have a GET license before they begin operations. And as your business grows and your revenue sources expand, your GET obligations may evolve as well.
