Meet Our Vice Chair: William Whiteside

Experience matters when planning for the future of a community.

William Whiteside serves as Vice Chair of MIRIA and brings more than 25 years of experience on Horsham Township Council to his role. He also serves as Chair of the Horsham Land Redevelopment Authority (HLRA), giving him a direct connection to the ongoing work surrounding the future of the former NAS-JRB Willow Grove property.

Through his leadership and community experience, William brings valuable perspective to MIRIA’s efforts to support infrastructure, redevelopment, and long-term opportunities for Horsham Township.

We’re grateful for his continued commitment to serving the community and helping shape what comes next.

Sometimes the impact of community funding reaches people in a very direct way.

Through MIRIA-supported efforts, water providers have been able to reimburse residents for eligible prior surcharges or costs associated with water remediation.

That is an important reminder that funding does not stop at the project level. When resources are directed toward real community needs, the benefits can reach the people those investments are intended to serve.

Community impact can be measured in more than infrastructure. It can also be felt by the people who live here.

Who benefits from MIRIA?

The answer reaches across the community.

Residents can benefit from efforts that address water-related costs and connections. Water providers can receive support for essential remediation and infrastructure needs. Municipalities can access funding for projects that strengthen local systems. And the broader community can benefit from investments that help prepare the region for future growth and redevelopment.

Different groups. Different needs. One broader community impact.

MIRIA’s early grant investments helped provide direct support to water utility customers facing costs connected to PFAS remediation.

Funding supported customers of Warminster Municipal Authority Water, where the utility had to purchase PFAS-free water, and North Wales Water Authority, helping offset the cost of delivering PFAS-free water to customers.

In Horsham, funding also helped the Horsham Water and Sewer Authority reimburse customers for eligible surcharges used to address PFAS contamination affecting privately owned drinking water wells.

These grants demonstrate how MIRIA funding can help address immediate community needs while supporting broader water remediation efforts. Additional grants were announced as the program continued.

A 96% compliance rate is something worth recognizing. 👏

MIRIA extends a sincere thank you to the businesses and parcel owners within the MIRIA Zone for their participation in the 2026 supplemental tax filing process.

From July 1 through September 1, MIRIA Zone partners, with assistance from our Compliance Consultant, completed their required supplemental filings with the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.

That strong participation helps establish the foundation for MIRIA’s grant funding later this year, supporting investments that can benefit communities throughout the region.

Thank you to all of our MIRIA Zone partners for continuing to play an important role in this process. Your participation helps turn economic activity into future community investment.

The next phase of Blair Mill Road is taking shape. 🚧

Blair Mill Road Widening Phase 3 represents another significant step in improving infrastructure in Horsham Township, with MIRIA supporting the project through its investment in the work required to move it forward.

Major infrastructure projects do not happen overnight. They require planning, engineering, coordination, and long-term investment.

As Phase 3 progresses toward its expected completion around 2030, MIRIA is proud to support an effort designed to strengthen connectivity and help prepare the area for future opportunities.
