We are so thankful to have been able to reward our members and officers for all of their hard work this semester.

We announced our new officer team and awarded our senior, , with her AS alumni pin. We wish you the best in your future as you graduate this fall!

Happy Thursday! Today’s intern highlight goes out to our VP, Josh George!

“Before I joined the Accounting Society, I knew very little about the accounting profession and did not know how to interact with professionals. I joined the Accounting Society in the Spring of 2019 and it has done nothing but helped me with networking skills, leadership capabilities, and having a great support circle. Some of my favorite events include office visits, socials, and alumni/professional panels.
I have had the pleasure of spending one semester as a member, two semesters as an Info Systems officer, and currently as the Vice President. During this time, I have met many like-minded and hardworking individuals. They have given me knowledge about the accounting profession and pushed me to do my best in and out of the classroom.

Given all these great experiences and attending numerous networking events, I’ve had the opportunity to accept a Tax internship offer from Weaver next Spring! I am very much looking forward to this as I believe the classroom knowledge and the Accounting Society helped me achieve this internship offer.

I strongly recommend every member to take advantage of the opportunities the Accounting Society has to offer. I will forever be grateful for this organization, as it has played a terrific role in shaping other students and me to achieve internships and full-time offers in the accounting profession.”

Happy Tuesday! Today’s Intern Highlight goes out to one of our officers, Evelyn Quezada!

“Hello, my name is Evelyn Quezada! I am currently an administrative intern at CRI. The administrative internship is a great and unique opportunity that allows students to work in an office environment and get to know the firm’s culture.

As an intern at CRI I have been able to experience the environment of an accounting firm and have collaborated with multidisciplinary staff to successfully handle key documents necessary to file tax returns for individuals, trusts, and businesses. The Accounting Society has provided me with numerous opportunities, an ample network and ultimately led me to secure my CRI internship. The PPA program has also played a crucial role during my undergrad career as it allowed me to network with multiple professionals and learn about the diverse opportunities offered in public accounting.

Having participated in several collegiate organizations including AS and having held various leadership positions has provided the basic organizational skills that have led me to secure a Spring 2021 tax internship with BDO. I would highly recommend AS to Bauer college students as the organization has a lot to offer!”

Yet another Intern Spotlight on this beautiful Monday afternoon featuring our Junior Corporate Officer, Cassie Adame!

“3 semesters ago, I chose to join the Accounting Society and it is the best decision I could have ever made for myself during my college experience. This organization pushed me way beyond my comfort zone through their corporate, social, fundraising and volunteering events that helped me grow professionally and academically.

Being apart of AS for 4 semesters - 1 as a member, 3 as an officer - I’m grateful to have met so many like minded and hardworking individuals that have been an amazing support system throughout my time at Bauer that strengthened my networking and leadership capabilities.

Thanks to the several corporate events AS hosts every semester, I was given the opportunity to accept an internship offer from RSM in their Tax department next Spring and I’m ecstatic to begin and put all that I’ve learned in and out of the classroom to use while also representing AS, of course.

The Accounting Society has played a tremendous role in shaping me into the prospective professional I am today and I will forever be grateful for all this organization has provided for me and for all students at Bauer.”
