🚤 Wondering which SML boat ramps are open and usable? SML Insiders has you covered.

We've been getting a lot of questions about launch conditions, so we went straight to the sources.

✅ Our resident boating and water safety expert, Jerry Hale, reached out to Appalachian Power and local marinas to confirm which public boat launches are currently usable and which private marinas are offering public access.

☀️ The good news? Smith Mountain Lake is still very much open for business!

⚓ While low water means a little extra caution is needed, the lake remains highly usable, and the overwhelming majority of restaurants, marinas and waterfront businesses are open and ready to welcome you.
