The good folks at Modern Stone Age Kitchen, including owners Christina Schindler and Dr. Bill Schindler, gave MarylandSaves an inside peek at the way they use ancestral cooking techniques to make real “insanely delicious” food. Dr. Schindler’s book Eat Like a Human includes the blueprint for the eatery’s approach. Our MarylandSaves film crew visited the sourdough bakery, scratch-made restaurant, and coffee shop to film a testimonial about MarylandSaves and how it helps their employees use very simple techniques to secure their financial futures. We recommend a visit and they recommend MarylandSaves.

Urban Axes Baltimore is the latest MarylandSaves company to participate in our multimedia testimonial series.

Thanks to Urban Axes owners, the company now offers all employees an emergency and retirement savings program. It's not only free for owners like Dena Glisan, but they also received a $300 SDAT annual report filing fee waiver just for signing the company up. It's easy for the team as well, and they really appreciate the $1,000 emergency fund for unexpected expenses.

When the folks at Urban Axes are not making videos for MarylandSaves they are engaging in the "delightfully forbidden act of taking a break from the monotony and stress of city living and throwing an axe at a wooden target." Axe throwing, it turns out, is a very social experience. Look for their video and consider a visit.

The evening was filled with meaningful conversations with child care educators, directors, and owners across Maryland who show up every day for the state's youngest residents.
