Thanks for your patience while I took a week off to spend with my family. I believe everyone should take a week a year to regroup, rest and enjoy your people without working.

This week’s schedule is a little different from my norm as I have several meetings out of the office. It is:

Monday 10-4 with an hour off for lunch
Tuesday: 10-4 with an hour off for lunch
Wednesday: closed
Thursday: 9-4 with an hour off for lunch

CPAs love paper, paper clips, pencils, calculators and filing cabinets. I couldn’t resist going to see the World’s Tallest Filing Cabinet while visiting Vermont. These days we are mostly paperless, but filing cabinets are still part of our equipment. This was a pretty cool piece of art that I thought I’d share with you.

Each year, I close the office around July 4th to spend time with my family. This year the closing is June 26 through July 6. I will check messages and emails at some point during each day but won’t be readily available for phone calls. I appreciate all of your patience and understanding as I continue this tradition. Time spent with family renews the soul and is never wasted. Please arrange to bring in any work necessary to be returned during that period to me before I leave the office Thursday.

The struggle is real today for my cleaning lady, aka “My Sweet Daughter, Meghan”. She’s just trying to get it cleaned up before she goes to the movies. It’s like I’m running a business or something here messing up her world. Anyone else’s kids write them notes when you tell them you won’t be able to be bothered today? Child labor has its funny moments.
