It’s that time again! 600 year end forms just waiting to be filled out and sent off. If I don’t respond, just know my phone will be on do not disturb until February 🤣 this is such a stressful time of year but I really am so grateful for all my amazing clients. This business has given me the opportunity to meet and be friends with some incredible humans that I otherwise would’ve never crossed paths with. It’s an honor to know and work side by side with you!

* SCAM ALERT*
If you receive a letter like this, don’t pay it. This is not a legit government agency.

Undoubtedly, I receive this letter every time I set up a new entity and it makes me so sad when I go through clients financials and see they fell for it.

If you’re ever in doubt, ask your accountant!

I’m so grateful for talented people who help make my brand dreams come true (.co and my awesome website guy Jordan Eugene Hunter) and for our clients and the support we’ve been trusted with.

It’s because of all of you that this business venture grew from something to keep me busy during nap times into this crazy thing that is beyond my wildest imagination.

Today’s tax tip is for business owners on how to categorize expenses.

If you are familiar with bookkeeping at all, you know how easy it is to use the uncategorized/miscellaneous/other accounts for transactions you don’t really know what to do with.

Today’s tip is… don’t do that! The IRS haaaaates that account because it’s hard to track or really know what’s in there. The more you can use specific and detailed accounts and avoid the “other expenses” category, the lower your risk of being audited.

Money will only make you more of what you already are. – T. Harv Eker

I’ve been thinking a lot about this quote lately and the human characteristics of being selfless and giving (specifically financially). It’s so easy to say “I’ll be a generous person when I have more money” And my response to that is… at what point do you have enough money to be generous?

A lie that is too easy to believe is that somehow more money will make you more knowledgeable, more courageous, more kind, etc etc etc. Sure, more money can change what you do or buy. But at the end of the day you will still be the same person with the same characteristics no matter how many zeros show up in your bank account.

If you were a generous person while making $20k a year, you’re probably still going to be a generous person while making $200k a year. Yes, the amount that you give will more than likely change but that characteristic inside of you remains constant regardless of your tax bracket.

Your habits matter. YOUR MINDSET MATTERS. I can guarantee you that someone making less money than you do right now is giving more than you do. And I don’t say that to make anyone feel bad. I say that actually for the opposite reason. Isn’t it motivating to think about how much others are giving especially considering their own state of poverty?

There are those people who freak out about spending an extra $20 on whatever but yet they have no problem forking out over $20 eating out for one night. Of which they will have nothing to show for and will literally p**p out the next day and flush it down the toilet. So it isn’t about how much money is in your account. We need to stop using that as an excuse. There really is no dollar amount or income level you have to hit in order to be a giver.

So how about we just… start now. Even if it’s $1. If we can shift our thoughts away from the scarcity mentality and instead, think and believe that success has ALREADY found you and you already have something valuable to offer, I believe your life will drastically change overnight. If you want to be a giver, absolutely nothing in this world is holding you back from being exactly that. And to me, that is inspiring.

I haven’t posted in 4 months 😅 it’s been bananas over here which is a great problem to have but it also means my insta game has been lacking.

Will it get better? Probably not but who knows what the new year will bring us. I mean miracles happen every day, right?

It’s been an insane year of growth and I love spending all my days eyeballs deep in payroll reports and financial statements. I have some big things planned for the future that is really testing my entrepreneurial abilities (or lack there of) but I’m excited to keep growing, scaling, and helping as many people and businesses as possible! Now let’s see if I can figure out how to pull it all off 🤞

One thing I can’t live without: this lame calendar clipboard. I honestly take it with me wherever I go.

I have tried so many different calendars, apps, scheduling programs, etc and this old school paper calendar is what works best at keeping me organized. Why? I don’t know. It just does haha

Being in charge of payrolls, paying bills, sending invoices, filing reports and so much more I have a gazillion deadlines throughout the month and this boring piece of paper is what keeps me organized so I’m never late submitting anything! I really would be lost without it.

At the beginning of every month, I write down all of my deadlines on the corresponding days and then in the blank squares that aren’t associated with a date I write down items I need to do throughout the month that don’t really have a specific deadline.

So if you’re in a similar industry and feeling lost trying to juggle 40+ clients with all of their different payroll dates and filing deadlines, go back to the basics and it might surprise you!
