✅ They act as a fiduciary (legally required to put your best interests first)
✅ They’re transparent about fees; no vague answers or hidden costs
✅ They’re qualified. Look for credentials like CFP® or CFA®
✅ They explain both risk and reward, not just the upside
✅ They openly identify conflicts of interest

Major red flags to watch for:
🚩They brush off or do not answer your questions directly
🚩They lead with a product before hearing about your needs
🚩They say unrealistic or guaranteed returns
🚩They pressure you to act quickly
🚩They are a "yes man" and agree with you on everything

Trump Accounts open on July 4. A few questions worth considering:

➡️ Our baby is 18 months old. Do we qualify for the $1,000?

Yes. Every U.S. citizen baby born since January 1, 2025, qualifies for a one-time $1,000 federal contribution.

➡️ Is there an income maximum?

No. Eligibility is based on the child's citizenship and birth date, not family income.

➡️ Our child is 7. Did we miss it?

Not entirely. Any U.S. citizen under 18 can have an account opened. The federal $1,000 payment applies only to children born in 2025 through 2028, but everything else still applies.

➡️ Can grandparents contribute?

Yes. Up to $5,000 per year combined across parents, grandparents, family, and the child themselves.

➡️ What is the catch?

State tax conformity varies; California, for example, does not currently conform.

➡️ I want to get this started, and I received an email asking me to download an app. Is it legitimate?

Follow the instructions from an official website and don't download anything suspicous. If you have concerns, you can always download the required tax form and app directly from the .gov: https://www.trumpaccounts.gov/

➡️ Is this the best option for investing for youth?
