If you received advance child tax credit in 2021 you should start watching for a form from the IRS called "Letter 6419". Do not file your taxes before receiving this form because this amount is needed to reconcile your child tax credit on your return.

If you file without reconciling the child tax credit on your return your refund could be held up for months.

You can also login to the CTC Portal to obtain the amount that you received.
