Hey everyone, here’s a quick tax refund update so you know what to expect:
✔️ Refund Timing: Not everyone will get their refund this week. The IRS takes 8 to 21 businessdays from February 15th to process refunds.
✔️ "Where’s My Refund?" The IRS tool updates daily (usually overnight)—no need to check multiple times a day.
✔️ Cash Advance Considerations: If you took a cash advance, we can’t guarantee how much you’ll get back. Debts, bank fees, and state refunds can impact your final amount.
✔️ Contacting the IRS: We don’t typically call the IRS unless there was an error on our part. If we do, consider it a bonus from us! Your return copy has all the info you need.
✔️ Error Notices: If the IRS flags your return for an error, 9 times out of 10, it’s not a mistake we made. Your return was either randomly selected or needs extra review.
✔️ Early Filers vs. February Filers: Seeing people who filed in February get refunds before you? It happens! The IRS processes returns at its own pace—it’s not personal.
✔️ ID Verification: If selected for ID verification, wait for your letter. Using ID.me may speed up the process.
✔️ Filing Status Myths: The IRS is NOT flagging your return just because you didn’t file as Head of Household.
✔️ Wage or Dependent Verification: If selected for wage or dependent verification, it could take weeks, months, or even until the end of the year to receive your refund.
