SOCIAL WORK SUPERVISOR II
Northampton County Department of Social Services has a vacant Social Work Supervisor II position. Employee will supervise social work / income maintenance staff in the Employment Services and Day Care Units. Must possess knowledge of methods and principles of social worker supervision and training; techniques and practices and their application to specific problems; considerable knowledge of the laws, regulations and policies which govern social work programs; ability to express ideas clearly and concisely; and to plan and execute work effectively.
Minimum education and experience: Candidate must meet minimum qualification standards as established by the Office of State Personnel. Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work or counseling experience; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a master’s degree in a counseling field and two years of social work or counseling experience; or four year degree in a human services field or related curriculum including at least 15 semester hours in courses related to social work or counseling and three years of social work or counseling; or graduation from a four year college and four years of experience in a related human services field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work, or community organization. SOCIAL WORKER INVESTIGATIVE/ASSESSMENT/TREATMENT POSITION Northampton County Department of Social Services has vacant permanent full-time Social Worker-Investigative/Assessment/Treatment positions which requires working with abused and neglected children, their parents and the court system. This position requires two to three days per month intake in the Services Unit and participation in the agency on-call schedule. Ability to speak Spanish would be positive. Considerable knowledge of the program area of assignment. Good mathematical reasoning and computation skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret rules, regulations and procedures. Must possess a valid state driver’s license. One year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker for the Income Maintenance Caseworker II level. Candidates may be considered at the Income Maintenance Caseworker I level which requires as a minimum graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical or other public contact experience, which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, the gathering and compiling of data, the analysis of data and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks.
