✨ 250 Years of Freedom. One Family’s Journey. One Ongoing Story. ✨

This July 4th marks 250 years of the American story. 🎆
For my family, that story began before I was born.

In 1988, my family fled civil war in Angola 🇦🇴
in search of something greater, Freedom, stability, and opportunity.

Two years later, in 1990, I was born here in the United States. 🇺🇸
I didn’t cross the ocean myself but, I carry the reason they did.

Their sacrifice became my starting line.
Today, I’m building businesses , strengthening community , and creating legacy because they chose courage over comfort.

This country gave my family a second chance.
Now it’s my responsibility to build something worthy of it.

Freedom isn’t just something we celebrate.

It’s something we steward.

We laugh… but a lot of people leave their finances to exposure

➡️ “I’ll figure it out later”
➡️ “I’m making good money, I should be fine”
➡️ “I just need to get through this season”

Here’s the reality:

You don’t fix finances later.
You either plan… or react.
And most people?
They’re reacting.

No judgment | Just facts.

If you’re:
• Making money but not building anything
• Unsure where your money is actually going

I'll say it a different way for those in the back:
• “I’ll figure it out later”

Most people joke about money like this…

Lately, I’ve been struck by how many quiet conversations end the same way...

As people walk me through their financial picture, it comes out, almost as an aside, that they’re no longer working. A layoff. A restructuring. A role that disappeared.

It’s sobering how often this is carried silently.

This season hits close to home for me. Last year, I stepped away from my role as a production director and pivoted careers. My desire to help my mother retire well remained the same. Some days, watching the economic landscape shift, I wonder if the timing could have been worse.

Still, I’m choosing faith over fear.

I’m praying for clarity, resilience, and provision for people navigating uncertainty, for families recalibrating, and for those redefining what “next” looks like.

Behind every statistic is a human being.

If you can, check on your people. Share an opportunity. Lead with kindness.
You never know the weight someone is quietly carrying.
