There were 13 people living in the house I grew up in.

I think as business owners, we tend to think about the day-to-day: bringing money in, throwing it into a savings account, and not thinking about how we’re actually building wealth.

The revenue may be growing, but what about your retirement and investments? This is an easy trap to fall into when you’re so busy running your business and having it fund your personal life.

What we need to start thinking about is the future: what would happen to you if your business just stopped? Do you have funds set aside to hold you down? Do you have funds working for you and growing?

Your wealth should be considered when you’re deciding on how to allocate your profit.

2026 was the year of exploration and growth for me as I quit my 6-figure job at the beginning of this year and had to rebuild. My goal was simple. Replace that income, build stability, build confidence, and absorb as much information as possible.

So how could I do all those things at once? By getting in the room.

I traveled to 9 different conferences and events this year, spent $7,545 and made $44,300, spiking my ROI to 487%.
