Wow this season has been off to a great start! With the new compliance testing owners were required to pass this year, many tax services were not able to open this year. We felt being the IRS had pushed back the filing date to the 30th of this month it may affect our business negatively, but it has turned out to be the exact opposite. Although many businesses are unable to file their customer's returns until the 30th, it turns out tax services who use the same software to prepare taxes as the IRS, TaxWise, which is the same software we have used for years, are able to send off returns as early as the 16th of January. The IRS will not be sending out refunds for anyone any earlier than the 30th of January, but all the returns sent in before the 30th will be processed first.
