Good morning,
As a tax professional, I cannot provide an exact date for when your refund will arrive. Once your return has been accepted and is in processing, the timeline is controlled by the IRS, not your preparer.
According to the Internal Revenue Service, most electronically filed returns are processed within 21 days if there are no errors and no additional review is required. This information is publicly available on IRS.gov under the “Where’s My Refund?” and refund timing guidance pages.
If your return is selected for verification or additional review, that does not mean you did anything wrong. Identity verification is a standard fraud-prevention measure designed to protect taxpayers. The IRS has significantly increased these safeguards in recent years due to identity theft and refund fraud. While the process can feel inconvenient, it exists to protect you and your refund.
If you filed last week, you are still well within the normal processing window. While some refunds are issued quickly, early deposits are never guaranteed. Filing recently means your return is still moving through the standard system timeline.
Please also understand that checking transcripts or the IRS website multiple times per day will not accelerate processing. Updates occur in batches and are not updated in real time.
We welcome reasonable questions and concerns. However, professionalism and patience are expected on both sides. Once your return has been filed accurately and accepted, the remaining timeline is determined by the IRS.
