We are proud to recognize Tommy Carter for his 10th anniversary at Townsend this month!! Tommy is indispensable as our team lead in our Leather Cut Parts team!

Tommy has the distinction of winning our Joe Cool 😎 and Ownership awards, and that mix of handling pressure, rising to challenges, being sweet to and mindful of others while doing whatever it takes to get the work done is special. A team lead that fixes his own equipment, does every job in the department at a level as high if not higher than anyone else, sets the example for work ethic, always takes his own initiative to work off hours or off days if needed, and one in a role that puts him in the spot many would not prefer to be in, the least amount of time available to you, the order is due and all the customer expects is perfection in their cut parts. Yeah, he is a superhero 🦸🏻‍♂️ for real.

Tommy is widely respected and appreciated throughout the company, here are 2 of the many accolades he earned from his peers and leadership recently -

“I think Tommy should be our Partner of the Year! Over the past year he has had a lot thrown at him with a move to a whole new building, a whole new team, taking on quilting dept, breaking down of the cutting machine (almost monthly lately) and now source inspection, it all can be frustrating and stressful. Even though I know he's stressed he stays calm and keeps pushing forward no matter what comes his way! He takes whatever measure he needs to make sure the job is done and done right!”

“I feel like our Grit award should go to Tommy Carter every year! The ups and downs of the cutting department are never ending. He has had the benefit of creating a great team over the last year but that hasn't helped the backlog, growth and challenges with customers, or the machine being down and yet he persists and overcomes. Whether that means working the weekends, coming in early or staying late, the man is persistent!”

Many partners shared their appreciation for Mary and how much she cares for us and her work, this vote captured the many sentiments for this very deserving partner -

Mary has done payroll for Townsend for 16 years and she works hard for accuracy, timeliness, and is so personable and warm to all of our partners. Her complete dedication to Townsend and all of us is felt in nearly every interaction you have with her, and what fun those interactions are!
