Update: Since June 2022 I've been 'working' with clients of the Small Business Development Center in Kona Hawaii. Focus on basic bookkeeping using QuickBooks Desktop and OnLine. Our two hour meetings are via Zoom and are a great way to get going on bookkeeping.

My other passion is church accounting - fund accounting and other bookkeeping issues that small churches have.

Otherwise I'm trying to be retired and enjoy maintaining our garden and lawn.

As a result of the Tax Cuts And Jobs Act (TCJA), for the tax years 2018 through 2025, you cannot deduct home office expenses if you are an employee.

Mileage Rates for 2018

The IRS recently announced mileage rates to be used for travel in 2018. The standard business mileage rate increased by 1 cent to 54.5 cents per mile.
